A new blended project approach by internal IT staff and IBT on a recent PeopleSoft 9.2 Upgrade for an iconic Not-For-Profit has proven to significantly cut upgrade costs and has been officially commended by a Senior Finance and Audit Committee Board Member.
With over 200 years of history, 130 programs supporting more 233,000 Australians, 2000 staff and 4000 volunteers, this iconic NFP has grown to be one of the biggest community organisations in Australia.
Taking a blended project approach to jointly deliver successful upgrade outcomes, IBT’s collaboration with this NFP’s IT staff has proven tremendously successful. So much so, that the combined team approach taken has been recognised in a formal letter of commendation from one of the NFP’s Senior Board Members.
The official commendation letter thanked all project participants – both internal IT staff and project partner, IBT – for their dedicated planning, work and efforts that delivered the 2016-17 PeopleSoft 9.2 upgrade project on time, on budget and within scope.
The Finance and Audit committee member also noted that “the implementation of this program will significantly benefit the day to day running of our organisation well into the future. Good planning has played a key role in such a successful transition to the live platform and it is a credit to those involved on a job well done”.
IBT is delighted that the combined project team approach has worked so well and we will certainly be adopting it for similar projects in future. This new and innovative approach to the upgrade process was designed to dramatically cut the traditionally eye-watering costs associated with upgrades of this scale and risk of time/scope overreach.
